Rope Access Technician Level III

Panthera Solutions Inc. is growing its team to service Guyana's developing oil & gas industry. Our aim is to be Guyana’s leading provider of industrial solutions and value-added services in asset maintenance and offshore deck services. We are currently looking for individuals to work as Rope Access Technician Level III within our onshore operations. Successful candidates who excel in this position will be given preference in transferring into the equivalent position within our offshore workforce at a later date.

A Level 3 is a rope access technician who is able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of Levels 1, 2 and 3; is conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation; has an extensive knowledge of advanced rigging and rescue techniques; holds an appropriate and current first aid certificate and has knowledge of the IRATA International certification scheme. A Level 3 has the necessary supervisory skills and is generally the team leader and rope access safety supervisor responsible for rope access safety in work projects. S/he ensures that, at all times, the team is in a position that, should there be an incident, s/he can initiate a rescue with the help of the remaining members of his/her team. S/he is the link between the team, the client and their safety system and is responsible for the task in hand to ensure it is carried out correctly in a safe and efficient manner.

A Level 3 Rope Access Technician must:

  • Provide proof of previously having met the Level 1 & 2 Rope Access Task Achievement Criteria or equivalent;
  • Be IRATA competent;
  • Verify and sign team members IRATA logbooks – specifying type of rope access activity, location and hours worked;
  • Maintain their own IRATA logbook; and
  • Provide evidence of: Delivering tool box talks, writing rescue plans, inspecting equipment, completing essential paperwork (category hours/rope logs), teaching his team rescue techniques and pulley systems during any down time and attending Panthera Solutions Inc Level 3 workshops.

The following are the requirements for applicants or any equivalent combination of skills and experience:

  • Successful completion of a one week Level 3 training course given by an approved IRATA training provider;
  • Knowledge of Rope Access Procedures -P-11;
  • Knowledge of LOLER regulations 1998 ; and
  • IRATA International Code of Practice and IRATA Training and Certification Scheme, (TACS).
  • NDT Certification - Would be an asset
  • Opito Rigging certification - Would be an asset
